OVERVIEW

Our Behave Program focuses on behavior modification for dogs with issues including (but not limited to) separation anxiety, inter-dog aggression, leash reactivity, fear/anxiety, resource guarding and proper behaviors between kids and dogs. Many dogs have more than one ‘thing going on” so if that’s the case pick the issue of primary concern, and we’ll go from there!

Help! My dog is…

Barking/growling At Dogs and/or People

panicking if i leave the house

fighting with my other dog or cat

easily startled and often fearful

barking/growling if i go near his “stuff“

unpredictable around kids and I’m worried

The Initial Consult

$246

All programs start with a 90 minute virtual consult. This is where behavior modification begins. Your Behave Consult includes a customized Behavior Plan there, which is customized to you/your family and your pet(s).

Initial consults with Behave clients are virtual unless otherwise discussed. These are a deep dive into behavior, addressing history, training, incidents, health, goals, and your relationship. By using the virtual option, we are set us up to begin the behavior modification by talking to the humans about what's going on, assessing, making a plan and then meeting your dog fully aware of how to help them feel safe, build trust, and accept us as their teachers.

Reactivity & Stranger Danger

Is your dog barking and lunging at other dogs or people on the street? Do they bark at guests when they come to your home? Are you afraid to invite friends over? We’d like to help. Our program starts with an initial consult to get a complete understanding of the behaviors and your situation. We curb bad behaviors, train you and your dog to change their behavior in the face of certain triggers, and teach you how to keep everyone feeling safe and comfortable.

Kids & Dogs

Do you have a new baby in your home or is the fact that your baby has become a mobile toddler freaking your dog out? Does your new dog know that kids are not dogs and that they must be interacted with differently? Thinking about having kids and worried your dog will not do well? We’re here to help. This program is flexible and suitable for anything kids and dogs related. We’ll teach you how to create a safe home for everyone and teach your dog skills to cope with babies and toddlers.

Resource Guarding

Is dog guarding objects around your house and snapping if you come close? Is your dog growling at you when you try to move her off the couch at night? Does your dog hoard toys now that another dog has entered your home? Our resource guarding package includes an initial consult to identify exactly who or what is being guarded and when. We’ll help you create a safe space where you aren’t accidentally triggering guarding, while we help your dog learn that it’s a-ok to share space, people, and things!

Inter-Dog Aggression

Do you live in a multi-dog household with dogs who are showing aggression towards one another? Has your home gone from cuddly, playful doggie friends to dogs who can’t stand one another? Do you know how to break up a fight without getting injured? We’ll help you create a safe management plan for preventing aggression in the home and teach you how to identify early signals of stress. Together we will use training and management to improve your dogs’ feelings about one another.

Fear & Anxiety

Does your dog show fear and anxiety in a variety of settings? Does he lack confidence, shake or run away from seemingly safe situations? Is he shy and retreating when someone in your family or a close friend wants to pet him? Get help now for your dog who has fear/anxiety issues. We'’ll teach you how to read your dog and help them cope with challenges, loud noises or uncertain changes to their life/routine. We’ll work with you and your dog to build their confidence and change their feelings towards triggers.

Separation Related Distress

Does your dog panic when you leave the house or even the room? Do they destroy their crate or other barriers trying to get to you? This program is right for you. We’ll start with an initial consult where we determine exactly what is stressing out your pup and create a program to help them adjust to departures. While separation anxiety is a common term, every dog and home is different so we will set up a custom plan. Because this issue is dependent on your dog being, well, alone, this is suited well to virtual sessions. We typically start with a virtual initial consult & one virtual follow up appointment to get you started on a daily program. One month of daily checks are included in your program, and then you move to our Behave Tracker Subscription!
